Dave started Out Of This World Plumbing (originally named DS Plumbing) in 2004, just after moving to Canada with his wife Wendy. He has always had a knack for problem solving, which translated well into his licensed plumber career. Dave cherishes his team very much and has a passion to educate, support and push his team to become better versions of themselves, both personally and professionally. He has a dream of going to space and taking Out Of This World across Canada. In his spare time, you’ll find Dave relaxing by the fire and watching a cheesy sci-fi movie…usually with a cat on his lap!
Wendy is originally from Windsor, England, and before moving to Canada, she worked as a nurse and met Dave when he was one of her patients following a car accident! She truly cares for her Out Of This World team and makes everyone feel welcome and appreciated (it’s her superpower!) In her spare time, you’ll often find Wendy with a cup of tea and a good mystery, history or puzzle book! She loves spending time with Dave, her two sons and going for walks in nature…and of course helping animals!
Trevor came to us after graduating from the Plumbing Techniques program at Fleming College, and for a time, he worked as a phone answerer in our office until he received his plumbing apprenticeship. He is also a Gas Technician, Radon Specialist and Water Treatment Expert! What Trevor loves most about plumbing is the ability to problem solve, take on a challenge, and help his clients along the way. His role as Service Manager includes training and supporting our field team and making sure our customer service is top notch. He is also a board game enthusiast and enjoys a competitive game with his wife and family, plus learning music in his free time! He and his wife Cassandra keep busy with 2 boys, 2 cats and a pug.
Nancy has been managing the Out Of This World office since 2012! When she is not keeping the office and our team organized, she is busy working on her farm. Arkhaven Farm takes in animals with health issues, who would otherwise have been put down. Her farm-family includes horses, donkeys, dogs and cats, and she has found a recent passion for nursing abandoned kittens from a local barn. Nancy’s favourite part of Out Of This World is getting to work with a friendly and skilled team!
Jamie joined our team in 2020 as our fulltime graphic designer, and over the last few years, his role has continued to grow and encompass many skillsets. He is now our Service & Project Coordinator, meaning is the first point of contact for our plumbers for questions and needs throughout the day and helps our office team with job and project planning, often working alongside Trevor to create a seamless experience for clients. Jamie is also a published author, and in his spare time you can find him helping animals, painting, going for walks, and living with his fiancée and 3 cats, Henry, Bean & Phoebe!
Julia joined the team as the Customer Service Representative and loves getting the chance to talk to and help Out Of This World’’s clients! Originally from Montréal, Julia moved to Ottawa for her Bachelor’s of Global and International Studies, and she is currently taking steps to start a Masters in Speech Language Pathology. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, finding new places to add to her travel bucket list, and spending time with friends and family!
Banezir joined our team in 2023 as part of our CSR and admin team! She is currently working on her Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology & Political Science with a goal to earn her Master’s in International Affairs. Banezir enjoys helping our clients over the phone and cuddling the office cats during the quiet moments, who, like most cats, don’t give her a choice in the matter. In her spare time, you can find Banezir spending time with her family, reading historical books and shopping online!
Scott has been with Out Of This World for a few years now! He operates and organizes the warehouse at our head office, and deals with ordering and recalling work parts for the techs. Scott enjoys spending time with his fiancée and their 2 cats, Charlie & Libby, and planning and constructing homemade contraptions. He is a published author on men’s style! Scott’s favourite thing about working at Out Of This World is the freedom to design and build useful tools for the warehouse and organizing everything to be efficient and clean.
Austin came to our team in 2022 from B.C. where he lived for about 5 years. He is a licensed plumber who loves helping homeowners and taking time to show his clients how things work in the home. He is training to become one of our water treatment technicians, and he is also interested in becoming certified for radon treatment & mitigation. Austin appreciates his family time, so when he isn’t working, you can find him spending time with his wife and young daughters! He is also a huge Leafs fan!
Geneviève, or Gen for short, joined our team in 2023 as a Plumbing Technician with a background of more than 4 years of experience! She has always loved working with her hands and is looking forward to earning her full plumbing license within the next year. Gen is passionate about travelling and has been to many beautiful countries, including Australia, where she spent almost a full year living. In her spare time, you’ll find Gen hanging out with her family, friends or cat, Jax. Geneviève is also bilingual so if you need service in French, she is happy to help!
Adam joined our team in 2023 and has multiple years of experience in the plumbing trade. His favourite part of the job is easing the stress of his clients when he fixes a problem! Adam finds joy in spending time outdoors, hiking and fishing, and playing games, and his life goals include helping his family and friends, and owning an animal sanctuary or farm! He lives at home with his wonderful puppy, Nala.
Garry is originally from London, England! He joined Out of This World Plumbing in 2014, shortly after making the leap across the pond. When he is not busy with his two young daughters, he enjoys listening to podcasts and playing soccer. His next goal is to learn French. What he most enjoys about his job is making homeowners feel taken care of by the tradespeople they use, and the rapport he shares with his colleagues!
Gabe joined our team in 2023 as a plumbing apprentice! He has wanted to become a plumber since his first time playing Super Mario, and he’s also looking forward to finding his own ‘Princess Peach’ one day. He spends his work days learning and helping alongside our other technicians, and he is a strong believer in old fashioned values of work hard/play harder. Gabe is also a huge Miami Dolphins fan, and he has a passion for Heat (both on the court and on his wings) and for keeping the world’s pipes flowing, one day at a time!
Spencer joined our team in 2024 as one of our labourer technicians who assist our plumbers with an extra set of hands and especially on bigger jobs! He attended Thompson Rivers University and Algonquin College, and is looking forward to earning his plumbing and gas license in the next few years. Spencer’s hobbies include cooking and outdoor activities like hiking, camping and fishing! His favourite aspect of Out Of This World is that everyone is super friendly and helps guide and educate him about the trades so that he can continue to succeed in his future!
We’re always on our toes at Out Of This World with our Kitty Office Staff nearby! Jake, Garfield and Spook are our lovely office cats that provide OOTW’s office with a cozy home feel. They are all rescues that have been adopted into our work family—Jake was a rescued stray, and Garfield and Spook were adopted from Country Cat Rescue. Always looking for cuddles and treats, these three really make Out Of This World what it is—plus they keep our laps warm in the colder months!
