On Sunday July 20th, we were thrilled to join charity BOD directors, dozens of area residents and Ryan himself at the 2nd annual High Tea in aid of the Ryan’s Well Foundation.
As you may know, Ryan’s Well is one of our favourite charities. It is dedicated to providing clean drinking water and sanitation to people in developing countries. It was started by a 7-year old Ryan Hreljac in 1999 and is still going strong. It has brought clean water and latrines to over 800,000 people in 16 countries.
Hosted by Robin Stewart and Don Walsh at their lovely home in Plaisance, Québec, more than 80 people attended, all dressed up in their garden party best. There was a photo booth, a silent auction and live auction, champagne and lots of lovely food! The servers were local high school volunteers.
Last year’s event raised about $6,000. This year’s event raised almost $10,000 to fund rainwater harvesting tanks for the Massai of Kenya. You can see more pictures from the event on the Ottawa Citizen website.
We’re really looking forward to next year!
