Protect Your Investment in Your Home
Sumps pumps are not just for homes in low lying areas – they are for any home where rising water levels in the ground can threaten the home. A sump pump system with battery-powered backup can save you thousands of dollars in damage repairs when spring runoff is high or we have a lot of rain.
They’re so effective that the City of Ottawa now has a rebate if your home was built before 2004 and has never had one installed.

When is the best time to install a sump pump?
Sump pump installation should ideally be done before finishing or renovating a basement. The basement floor will need to be broken up to dig and install an appropriate pit dug to house the pump. As well, plumbing needs to be installed to take the waste water away, and piping set up to safely vent radon gas from your home.
It is critical that the right kind of waste water pipe is installed – we have seen cases where, unbeknownst to the homeowner, the wastewater pipe has collapsed and they only find out when the water level rises and is not able to be carried away.
Sump Pump Brands We Trust
While we can install any make or model of sump pump, we find our customers get great results with these brands.
Liberty sump pumps can pump out a lot of water quickly, and really last. There are seven sizes available, all designed to use as little electricity as possible. There’s even a water-powered model that works even when the power goes out.
Depending on your needs, you may require different sump systems. Ask your plumber what the options are and what works for your home.
All of our sump pumps and packaged systems are available with optional battery-powered backups. We can install new systems for you or replace old, worn out pumps.
Do You Need a Sump Pump?
Why You Should Invest in a Sump Pump Backup
Back up systems are are essentially a whole second sump pump that runs on a battery. They are not mandatory on sump systems, but they are a good idea.
The back up system turns on automatically when the primary system fails (if there’s a power outage or the first system breaks down). It will also turn on to help the primary system keep your basement dry even when the amount of water is much higher than normal.
